🕐 How To Add A Grace Period To A Job
In order to add a grace period, whilst on the job creation page, at the very bottom of page one, you will see the “Job Dates” section. Within this section you are able to set your “valid from” date, “expiry” date and “grace period”.
➡️ Here is an example of the way a standard expiry date would work:
As you can see this job has been set to expire on the 29th of May.
- This role will only be available until the turn of midnight when it becomes the 30th May and then will become unavailable.
- After this point, standard practice would usually mean that recruiters would likely disregard candidates who haven't completed their application.
➡️ Here is an example of the way a Grace Period expiry date would work:
As you can see this job has been set to expire on the 29th of May.
You will also see a "Grace Period" option – This allows candidates who started their application before the expiry date to complete it after the role has technically closed.
Under this option you can enter a grace period end date – This is the final deadline by which candidates must submit their application. It must be after the initial expiry date.
Example:
- Initial expiry date: 29th May
- Grace Period end date: 31st May
In this case, any candidate who begins their application before 29th May must complete it by 31st May.
‼️Remember:
- Only those candidates that have started an application prior to the initial expiry date will be able to take advantage of the grace period that has been set (i.e. No new applications are allowed to be started within the grace period).
- The Grace Period ends at the turn of midnight - in the above example from midnight 30th May.
