✏️ Introduction
Reach candidates faster with SMS! With most people having a mobile phone, text messaging is a quick, direct, and effective way to stay in touch. Use SMS alongside calls and emails for a well-rounded communication strategy.
Some examples of when you might use SMS to contact candidates;
- When inviting a candidate to book an interview.
- When confirming interview details such as date, time, location and who the candidate will be meeting.
- Generating reminders.
SMS notifications can be set to generate automatically on a per job basis or they can be sent on an ad hoc basis.
📲 Enabling SMS Notifications On A Per Job Basis
Once enabled on a job you can keep candidates on track with automated SMS reminders.
When an interview is scheduled the SMS reminders are automatically generated as follows:
- If the interview is within 24 hours, an SMS reminder is sent immediately.
If the interview is more than 24 hours away, the reminder is sent exactly 24 hours before the interview.
This ensures candidates stay informed and show up prepared!
➡️ How to set up an SMS reminder
To get started, head to the first page of the 🖱️ job creation process and scroll down the page to “Candidate Processing” followed by “Interview Stage” and tick the “Enable SMS Notifications” checkbox (1).
You can also deselect the check box if you do not want to send SMS reminders.
Ensure that you save your selection.
Automatic SMS reminders will now be generated as per the SMS criteria mentioned above.
💬 Sending An SMS Via A Job To A Candidate
To get started, head to the relevant job and select the candidate/s that you would like to send an SMS to, followed by the Options menu (cog icon) and select “Send SMS”:
A pop up will appear where you are able to type your message in. Once you are happy with your message click “Send”.
🗒️ Reviewing The Status Of An SMS
Once an SMS has been sent to your candidate, there is the ability to review the status of the SMS.
To do this, go to the candidate’s full profile and select the “Tool” menu (1).
If an SMS has been sent to a candidate you will be able to view (2);
- The status of the SMS.
- The originator.
- The body of the SMS.
- The date the SMS was sent.
