✏️ Introduction

Two-way messaging in the ATS makes communicating with candidates seamless and efficient. With this feature, you can send messages directly from the ATS and receive replies in real time, no need to switch platforms!

Once a candidate responds, you'll get a notification so you can keep the conversation flowing without delay. Staying connected has never been easier.

This guide walks you through everything you need to know. From starting a chat to tracking past conversations, so you can make the most of this powerful tool.

💬 How To Use 2-Way Messaging

To get started, simply click on the “message bubbles” icon in the top right of the ATS (1):

 

Once clicked, a pop up will appear, allowing you to view any previous messages and start new ones:

 

To start a new chat simply select the “+Start Chat” button.

 

 

In order to start a chat, you will need to search for the candidate you wish to speak to (1). This will then populate any candidates that are listed on the ATS (2).

 

Once you have found your candidate, simply select them to populate a new chat on the right-hand side. 

 

At the bottom, you can choose how the message will be sent either via email or SMS by clicking on the toggle.

 

If a candidate has a phone number attached to their profile we will be able to send an SMS as expected. 

The candidate can also reply back via SMS and we will see their message in the chat.

❌ Why Won't My Messages Send?

When typing out your message, there are 2 fields that you must enter information into. The top line is the Subject Header. The bottom line is the content where you write out your message. 

 

Both fields must have information filled in before you are able to click send.

✍️ How Will My Messages Show?

As an internal ATS user, your message will appear as a speech bubble to which your candidate can reply back to you. 

 

 

The candidate will recieve any messages sent using this method directly to their mobile phone as a text message or an email depending on the method chosen.

📲 How Do I Know When My Candidate Has Replied?

 

When the candidate has replied you will you receive an email notifying you of the message as well as the chat bubble icon at the top of your screen showing a +1

 

This is to let you know someone has replied. If you select this you will be able to see your candidate's response.

📱 What About SMS?

As long as your candidate has a valid phone number and their opt ins say "Yes I want to be contacted via SMS" we can change the toggle to send an SMS to the candidate

The candidate will also be able to text back just like email.

👤 Accessing 2-Way Messaging Via The Candidates Profile

 

There is an option to view “Communications” via the tool bar on the right hand side of a candidate's profile. 

 

Once selected you can view all communications that you have sent to the candidate via the 2 way messaging system. 

 

If needed, you can also continue to message your candidate from here rather than from the message bubble icon at the top of your screen.
