Find out more about our new Notification Centre
There has been a requirement for some time in the ATS, to provide notifications when certain actions are performed.
This new functionality will alert users to specific notifications that they allow, which will display the alert to them in the ATS, as well as sending emails as usual.
Please note - This will be a multi-phased project, with this phase concentrating on some of the main recruiter emails that are currently sent in the system and will evolve to include more emails and the ability to include more features.
Using the Notifications Centre
Once the Notifications Centre has been enabled on your platform, you will see a new icon in the top right-hand corner of your ATS:
You will notice that there is a number indicated in a red circle - this details the number of unread notifications that you have.
If you click into this icon, you will see a pop-up screen that looks like this:
As you can see, there are several tabs within the Notification Centre
- If you have any notifications, you will be able to click into each of these tabs to see what is contained there:
- Each section below the main tabs, will be for a separate notification.
If you wish to action the notification, there will be a link in the notification which will take you to the relevant place in the ATS.
For example, this notification refers to a new job that has been created in the ATS:
The word ‘here’ is a hyperlink and if you click it, it takes you to the job advert of the job that has been published:
Another example is this notification:
- Here, the word ‘link’ is a hyperlink, and will take you through to the Authorisation page, to show you the result of the authorisation:
Different types of notification will appear in the Notification Centre. In this initial phase of introduction, notifications that will show are as follows:
- Policy approval required notifications
- This will go out to the approver
- Policy accepted/rejected notifications
- This will go out to the requestor
- Policy approval accepted notifications
- This will go out to the approver and anyone on the email list
- Candidate offer accept email notification
- This will go out to the Job Owner / Hiring Manager
- Candidate has booked into an interview slot
- This will go out to the Hiring Manager and attendees
- Job shared with recruiter
- This will go out to the person the job has been shared with
- Job published
- This will go out to the Job Owner.
Please note - this list is just for Phase 1 of this functionality, going live in November 2024.
- Future phases will see additional notifications being brought into the functionality.
Within each notification, you will notice several icons to allow you to perform certain actions:
- Mark as read
- Clicking this icon will change the status of the notification and mark it as ‘read’
- You can click it again to mark it as ‘unread’ if you wish.
- If you do change the status of your notification, it will move to the relevant tab at the top of the pop-up screen
- Reminder
- This will allow you to set a reminder for this notification - it works a bit like a ‘snooze button’ for your ATS!
- If you select this option, you will see another pop-up appear underneath the icon:
- You can then select the relevant period to receive a reminder about the notification
- Once a Reminder is created, the notification will move into the ‘Reminders’ tab:
- Details of the reminder are shown against the notification (highlighted above).
- Archive
- This allows you to archive notifications once they have been actioned
- Selecting this option will move the notification into the Archive tab:
- It is worth noting that any messages in the Archive section will be deleted after 30 days.
